I was extremely surprised at these observations above and being a visitor to this resort not once but twice I felt I had to add my observations:)
Parking: we visited the resort twice once in early February and the second time in June of this year. Both times we were in a group pf about 15 and 18 respectively and had 6 cars each time. All our cars were comfortably parked in the dedicated Parking opposite the resort and there was room leftover for many more cars.
Rooms: Definitely not luxurious but basic clean and comfortable. The second time round the very helpful staff requested if we would be okay with a two day sheet changing policy as it was monsoon and they had issues with sheets not drying fast enough, I appreciated being asked and was okay with that. In-fact being addicted to hot showers (since I am anemic and suffer from cold feet) the extremely courteous staff indulged my many hot shower requests. And the skies came down on the second visit but our rooms always were dry.
Pet Friendly: Being a jungle resort I did see a lot of non wild animals (my husband and kids being the exception), my kids went crazy playing with the dogs, cats and horses. Being a mother I am as finicky about the next mom about my kids and their hygiene; but I never found this to be an issue on both my trips, and since I was on a deadline and had sort of made their restaurant my office (it was the only place my wifi worked) while I was there I did not experience the staff handling the food and animals!!
The resort was acres of play area :) coming from cooped up Pune I could barely keep my kids away from the natural stream or the wading pool.
Food: I enjoyed the rustic food with the hot bhakris!! Being a die hard non vegetarian, loved the rassas but apologies I did not notice the veg / non veg issues so cannot comment on the same.
My husband is an avid hiker and totally a wilderness buff so there are very few places in India that we have not visited and definitely most of them around Maharashtra, all of these have an upfront payment policy. Value for money is a relative thing, and for the amount that I was shelling at the resort I must say it was comparable to other similar resorts.
And most importantly the reason I decided to even respond to this was because of the extremely kind owners; while we were their my younger son fell and twisted his ankle, the owner late in the evening himself took his car and drove us all the way to Ratnagiri to the doctor and back (we returned back close to 2 am) we had a car and would have gone ourselves with directions but we really appreciated the fact that Mr. Rajan drove down all the way with us so we would have no difficulty in finding the place and getting prompt attention for our son.
In my books thats far exceeding the hospitality that was due to us and a person who does that would definitely go through lengths to keep his resort guests happy and create a good name for themselves.
Going back for New Years!!I would definitely recommend the resort .
