Good timepass

Another Emraan Haashmi movie....to be very frank I wasn’t really tempted to watch it ..call it luck...no other movie tickets were available...besides my sister was rather keen on it...so there I went with not too high expectations..

The movie is set in Dubai and starts with an Emraan Haashmi scene which tells us he’s a cab driver ... rather a lazy but good guy smitten with the "bhai" culture. Then a sudden item song in a bar which goes something like "abhi to main jawaan hoon" with casting thrown in it. Next we come to know the bar dancer (heroine Nisha Kothari)is Emraan’s beloved who hates the underworld don "jabbar".

It is only with the entry of Irfaan Khan that the movie picks up its pace...Irfaan Khan hires haashmi’s cab and later books him for entire night to be taken to various places where he supposedly has his "meetings". Now Irfaan is actually a contract killer hired by underworld don jabbar to eliminate 5 key witnesses in the course of that one night.

The conversation between Emraan and Irfaan and the way the night progresses is what keeps the viewer glued. The movie then actually becomes interesting .

Irfaan Khan is quite good as the witty killer who is nonchalant and cold blooded but funny at the same time .

Emraan Haashmi does okay and his emotions range from being friendly , then frightened, then desperate to flee, then angry and finally heroic when he learns that his girl is actually the fifth and final witness to be killed. In the meantime he even becomes a suspect for all the murders which Irfaan has committed.

However, in the end predictably the misunderstanding is cleared and the heroine is saved.

The important thing here is that the viewer is not bored in the process and is glued to his seat. The movie thus exceeds your expectations.

Some points are definitely silly like when Haashmi agrees to take Irfaan to meet his mother knowing that he is a killer . Also , Haashmi is not killed by Irfaan despite ample oppotunity unlike others who are gone in flash of a second if Irfaan suspects they are being a nuisance. The songs are pathetic and the heroine has precisely 2 songs and 3 scenes in the movie.

Anyway, in all an interesting movie worth a dekko at least once. The credit goes to Irfaan Khan .
