staff already know that rainwater enters the rooms and in spite of that they will give the room to customers.
its dangerous since the water on the floor is not visible. my husband was about to slip and fall.
AS PER THE STAFF, IT IS VERY NATURAL FOR THE RAIN WATER TO ENTER THE ROOM.

this hotel is only for people who are health conscious as the stairs are so steep.
get your complaints answered before you settle the bill(gratitude and courtesy is only till the bill is settled).

on the 3rd evening, we spoke to Mrs. Preethi, the receptionist and told her that we would be checking out next morning and we will clear the bills. she asked us to give only cash and we didnt do that since we wanted to reduce use of cash. my husband went all the way till the main road and did an online transfer of the entire amount to their hotel. she didnt give us a receipt for this but confirmed that the amount has been transfered.
on the 3rd night, it started raining very heavily and to our surprise, the water started entering in through the window. My husband was about to fall and luckily he didnt. we called the reception and told Mr. Karthik(receptionist/ in-charge during the night) about this. he asked us to shift ourselves to another room in a lower floor. there is no way, we can go to the lower floor in such heavy rain since there is no shelter and we can easily slip and fall and moreover we had our daughter who was sleeping. HOW CAN WE TAKE A SMALL CHILD IN SUCH HEAVY RAIN TO A ROOM IN THE LOWER FLOOR? he then, sent another person who asked us to move to another room in the same floor and to our surprise(AGAIN), the other 2 rooms also had water inside the room during rain and MIND YOU, THESE ROOMS are being rented at Rs. 6500. At such premium costs, dont you think having the room secured from rain water is BARE MINIMUM? I called up Mr. Karthik again and he says "IT IS VERY NATURAL TO HAVE RAIN WATER ENTER THE ROOM DURING RAINY SEASON". And then, nothing was done that night except have some carpets soak the rain water in the room.
the next morning, we were about to check out and I called up Mr. Karthik and said that the service has been very bad and I need a refund. He said, that the 1st 2 days were good and only the 3rd day was bad! that was so ridiculous. then I said if thats the case, you refund me the money for the 3rd day. he asked me to speak with Mrs. Preethi(+919994116207), the manager of the hotel. I spoke to this lady and I asked her to refund the amount for a day. she again asked me to speak to Karthik as he is in the hotel.
I then called Karthik again and said the service is pathetic for Rs. 6500 and im not happy, and I need a refund. he said, "i cannot commi that", so I said "If you cannot commit, give me the phone no. of your management and I will speak". he says "It is Mr. Murthy but I cannot give you his phone no. without asking his permission". I said, "we are coming down now and we need a refund". By the time we packed our luggage and loaded them into the car, Mr. Karthik was apparenty ready with an answer. He said "Mam, I have spoken to the management, and they are ready to refund one days amount Rs. 6500". I said thats great and gave him my husbands phone no. for paytm transfer and our bank account details. I even asked him "can I trust you Mr. Karthik?", he replied "Yes mam, you can trust me. You will have the money in your account by 1 o clock today afternoon". and we checked out of the hotel and left.
at around 11 o clock that day, Mrs. Preethi calls up and she starts arguing on the phone and justifying why the hotel is so great.
Me: You are taking Rs. 6500 for a room. dont you think it is a bare minimum requirement to make sure the customer is having a clean, safe and dry room. water must not enter the room?
Preethi: Mam, you should know that before coming to places like Kodai, when it rains, water will enter the room.
[CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE ACTUALLY SAID THIS!]
Me: plz go and see other hotels in Kodai itself, there is no hotel were the room has rain water when it rains.
Preethi: no mam, we cannot ensure the rain water does not enter. it is very natural that rain water will come into the room.

Me: if that is the case, this room does not deserve to be rented at Rs. 6500. Mr. Karthik has committed to refund Rs. 6500 today morning, plz make sure to transfer that amount into our account.
Preethi: Mr. Karthik is not any authority to commit.
Me: then when I asked him to give me the phone no. of the management, why didnt he give?, why did he commit?
Preethi: I didnt say we will not refund, I will you after one hour
AND SHE CUTS THE PHONE!
Around 2.30 p.m. Mr. Joshua(husband of Preethi and Sales person for Kodai hotel, +919843505936) called us and started explaining things an said, that they will transfer Rs. 3000 that was commited to us by Karthik.
Me: Mr. Karthik commited Rs. 6500, one entire days rent.
Joshua: there has been miscommunication, Mr. Karthik has given us a different no. I will get back to you in few minutes.
no call till evening.
Then I call Mr. Joshua again in the evening and remind him.
Joshua: Karthik is telling the management, that he commiuted only Rs. 3000. you plz speak to him at 6 o clock and whatever number he tells us, we will transfer that amount into your account.
We call Karthik at 6 o clock.
Me: Karthik, you had commited to refund one days amount to us in the morning. plz tell the same to your mgmt.
Karthik: no mam, I had not committed 6500 rs. as I am not management. I have no authority.
Me: then why didnt u give me the phone no. of the mgmt when I asked you in the morning?
Karthik: I cant give you the phone no. mam.
Me: then why did you commit on behalf of your management today morning?
Karthik:
Me: make sure to refund Rs. 6500 to my account.
Karthik: it rained only in the night so we will give you only Rs. 3000.(SO RIDICULOUS)
Me: if I check in to the room at 11 a.m and check out at 6 p.m. will you charge me half the room rent or full?
Karthik: full rent.
Me: then why are you saying that you will give me half the room rent when it rained only in the night?
Karthik:
Me: your hotel service is bad and you lied in the morning that you will refund entire amount.
Karthik: Mam, it will not rain always, only yeterday night it rained.
Me: it rained only yesterday night and my husband was about to slip and fall. but in spite of knowing that rain water enters the room, why did you give the room? why dont you get it fixed? what if a medical emergency happens to any of the customers? will the hotel bear the medical charges?
Karthik: SUCH A THING WILL NOT HAPPEN, MAM!

In the night, my husband called up one of the mgmt numbers from the website and that guy(9884503538 - Deepak Chandrshekar) is defending his staff and arguing with us th
