Wonderful but .......

I have just been to Leela Goa for 4 nights. The hotel is mind boggling. The location, the rooms, the service, the facilities, the grandeur ... all par excellence. You cannot simply compare any hotel to it. But beware if you are a vegetarian. Vegetarians enjoy a step motherly treatment. There are hardly any pastries & breads for them. They are not labelled as veg or non veg. In fact the ’with eggs’ & ’eggless’ breads are both put in the same basket which is highly irritating. In spite of drawing their attention, they do not make the changes. (so what if they promised to do the same) Every time you enter the hall, you have to ask them as to which items are veg and which are non veg. The staff over there hardly knows about it. So they rush to the kitchen and inform you about the same. Though every staff member has a different version. The only breads available are hard rolls. 3 ice creams are kept from 4 flavours. Every time they serve the same ice cream. Be it lunch or dinner.

Also there is a problem with the taxi. For sightseeing they mention on the website you have to inform them at the time of booking. If you don’t then you have to pay the exhorbitant rates. Also there is a taxi union outside the hotel so taxi is very expensive. They should arrange for free sightseeing like the other hotels do.

If they improve on their vegetarian fare and look into these small but essential matters, I think no hotel in India can match Leela Goa.
