The unsung hero of India

People talk about the Laggan’s and the Gadar’s..But if there was a movie whch deserved to be a hit and receive as much accolades as the other two then it has to be ’’Legend of Bhagat Singh’’..A great movie in all aspects it bombed in the box office just becoz it lacked the commercial elements in it..But in my view this was one of the perfect movies I had seen in a long long time..Even Gadar and Lagaan had a few flaws but this movie was just outstanding..

The movie potrays the plight of the oppressed indians during the British rule..The movie begins with Gandhi being ridiculed for not saving Bhagat’s life and you begin to wonder like what did Gandhi have to do with Bhagat’s life..well the movie continues and traces the life of Bhagat right from his childhood when he witnesses the atrocitied commited by the british and he vows to drive them of his country..Well he grows up into a young man and so does his love for his country..his love for the country is unmatched and he finds companions in sukhdav and Rajguru..he is a follower of Ganghi but is disappointed by him withdrawing from the non cooperation movement..and he follows the new path laid by Chadrashekar Azad..To gether they bring in a breath of fresh air in India and a new dimension to freedom fighting with his aggressive approach and they start attracting followers and at one stage which even competed with that of Gandhi’s..but an act os selffishness but the entire team in jeopardy and he gets the capital punishment..he embraces with such calm amd composure it seems like he knew it would be comin..such a great man he was that he died with a smile on his face..

As far as the performances are concerned Ajay Devgan steals the show with his awesome acting talent and by far his best performance till date..others do the job well but as the title suggests this is Ajay Devgan’s movie all the way..good perfromnces by Raj babar as Bhagat’s father and Farida jalal as his mother..Direction by Raj Kumar Santhoshi is great and it is so hard to believe that every scene shot is a true incident which occured some 80 years before..

Music by Ar Rehman is outstanding including the right music according to the mood of the movie..the music so beautifully blends with the movie that without it it would be hard to imaginr the movie without it..great music indeed..every song makes touches the audience and induces that patriotic that you need to watch the movie..and you start cheering for Bhagat Singh to go after the british.SO cruel they were that they deserved it..

Well if you are student poor in history do wathc this movie..this movie has all the major movements that occured in the first half of the twentieth century..you will find it easy to comprehend and of course you would have wathced one of the finest movie ever created..happy viewing and Jai Hind..
