?THE MAGIC OF TALAT MEHMOOD? is a great
tribute to the legendary singer who remains as the
uncrowned KING OF GHAZALS .
The Man with the Golden Voice enthralled his
fans all over India and is forever embedded in
their hearts.
As a young child, where the era of the snazzy radio
channels had not begun, I had the great opportunity in
listening to Talat Mehmood?s songs on Vividh
Bharathi. Most of his songs were somber, very
romantic and passionate. There was great
depth in his songs that one could feel Talat?s soul
in each one of the compositions.
His diction, intonation, his expressive style,
emotional nuances, sweet and mellowed voice and the
pathos touched everyone?s heart. This handsome
singer also acted in many Hindi movies ..though
I have never watched anyone of them.
Desperately I bought this twin cassette album as the
audio CD of the same collection is not available.
Nevertheless it?s a treat listening to this
charismatic singer and surely u will be drowned
in listening to them.
The BETAAJ BAADSHAH of Ghazals had those
vibrations in his silky voice rendering the soulful
songs. But it was for the TRAGIC HERO DILIP
KUMAR , Talat?s voice blended most
beautifully. He could portray the PATHOS and the
MELANCHOLY in his ghazals. Infact ghazal singer
Jagjit Singh always maintained, Talat Mehmood
is the ghazal original?. Talat saab always
insisted on certain poetry to be in the songs
he sang and so he still remains in our hearts forever.
But he had to discontinue singing in his peak time as
he was suffering from Parkinson?sdisease and
passed away in 1992.
I have picked up the best from the collection
of 32 songs.
(I have not done the English Translation, as I did
not want to dilute the essence of priceless ghazals.)

This is the Ultimate Romantic number I have
ever heard. So soft yet expressive! The poetry
is very rich and it was very well picturised as a
telephone conversation between Sunil Dutt and
Nutan.

TASVEER NAHI BANTI (from BARDARI)
Kya Shayari hai!!
3.JAYEN TO JAYEN KAHAN SAMJHEGA KAUN YAHAN

The sadness is beautifully woven in Talat?s voice and
picturised on Dev Anand.

Here Talat expresses the frustration of a
lover.

song very well.

Each and every nuance of this Ghazal is sung
beautifully.

Just close ur eyes while listening to this song and u
will be truly submerged in this lovely Ghazal.

The every pause he makes after singing a line,
totally gives a new dimension to this one.
