1.Quote from the subtitles of the movie
Forgive them.............they know not what they are doing.
2.Why I liked the movie?
Sounds familiar to you.Hmmmm.....that is what Jesus Christ said to God
when he was being crucified.Moving on to the film..well...what can I
say...as far as I am concerned, I used to be an antagonist not long back..but
after watching this movie, I was forced to re-consider the way I lead my
life.Everything seems to have changed.Kudos to Mel Gibson and his team
for being successful in making a movie that not only makes you realise
how were the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus but also think that
irrespective of the religion you follow for each of them, there has
always been a person to show people the road to humanity despite being subjected to immense criticism and agony. The same thing stuck me just out of serendipity.....something which most of us seem to have forgotten.
3.What I liked in the movie?
Moving on to the characters in the movie....though its difficult for me
to remember the actual names of all the characters...yet all of them
were just superb.Jesus in the movie was excellent but his role was more
of being expressive than of dialogue delivery.Mother Mary in the movie
had few dialogues but again as I have said the expressions very fine
and whatever she said had a deep meaning. The disciples were also ok but
only two of them stand out..one is Peter who was shown to be have
denied any connection with Jesus just to save his own life.Second is
Judas who actually let the jews know about Jesuss whereabouts in
exchange of a meagre 30 silver coins!Well....no use disclosing
everything for then why shall you go and watch this movie!!
Screenplay by Mel Gibson has been scintillating. So has been his
direction.Very very impressive. The scenes are very-very lively which
actually induces a sinking feeling in you for they are very blatant and
hardly anything has been oppressive. But I think they have a lasting
impression on you long after the movie is actually over. The sets that
have been used are also unbeatable and to check the rest of things do
go ahead and watch this movie.
4.What I did not like?
Not a single line of English in the move.I had to regularly refer the
subtitles to actually understand what was being said and in this
process had to miss quite a few of the scenes.Secondly, the tortures
that Jesus had to go through as shown in the movie were sometimes
unbearable.
5.The touching scenes of the movie
(A)Things said in the last supper.Peter said to Jesus that he would
always be there with Jesus, even during his death. But Jesus at that
time said that he would actually deny knowing Jesus thrice.Later on
that actually happened!
(B)The punishment imparted to Jesus by the Roman Governer on behalf of
the Jewish priests.20 most touching minutes of the movie.
(C)Mother Mary and one other lady cleaning up the flesh and blood
resulting out the punishment.
(D)The way Jesus had to drag the cross and the way a Jew helps him in
actually carrying it.
(E)The actual crucification and how the nails were being driven through
Jesus. And when the cross was actually reversed which Jesus crucified on
it.
Nothing else to pen regarding this movie at this point of time. Please do
watch this movie whenever you get the chance and I promise you shall
never regret watching it.
Comments are as usual welcome......and yes do let me know your views
regarding this movie.
One last thing..........I could not actually express even half of my
inner self in this review ........some how running short of words
and....whatever.........
Till my next review.....
All of you take care
