“Your sub conscious mind never grows old. It is timeless, ageless and endless. It is a part of universal mind of God, which was never born and will never die”.
“Once the subconscious mind accepts an idea, it begins to execute it. It is an astonishing and subtle truth that the law of subconscious mind works for good and bad ideas alike”.
“Constructive auto suggestion can release you from the mass of negative verbal conditioning that might otherwise distort your life pattern, making the development of good habits difficult or even impossible”.
“In the mind principle there is no time and space”
“Prayer is the soul’s sincere desire”.
“The thankful heart is always close to the creative forces of the universe’
Do you found the above quotes interesting? Read the book The Power of Your Subconscious mind and you will come across many of such wisdom filled thoughts in it.
The recent best seller ‘The Secret’ had borrowed few of these thoughts and I can see the influence of Think And Grow Rich by Napolean Hill on Dr. Joseph Murphy in drafting this book. Then, the credits seems out of places where the original thoughts were there many centuries ago and the modern writers only copy writing it in their names, like the Basmati rice is patented in 20th century.
Despite inspirations the Power of Your subconscious mind still stands alone for some unique thoughts which give away in convincing examples.
Art of convincing is a powerful tool and is the best part of this book. Dr. Joseph Murphy gives out some excellent examples in frequent intervals in the book, which bring clarity to the subject. He uses the example of soil and seed to explain the relation between subconscious and conscious mind is such a good instance.
Dr. Murphy is known to me earlier in the form of Murphy’s law. I was curious enough as it is suppose to tell me reasons behind instances like ‘a coin fell to floor from my hand move to the distant corner of the room’. In the book Dr. Murphy gives a glimpse of that reason though the question he asks is why we get negative results for our prayers.
The book is all about the power of subconscious mind, the ways to use it consciously to achieve our goals and how to pray to achieve results. The idea of miracles is well conceived and explained.
It is a good read for all who are interested in finding out the powers we can unleash using our sub conscious mind. Simple and profound thoughts are the speciality of this book.
On the minus side, the topic became repetitive. Same point is been repeated in many chapters. The book often tries to apply quotes from Bible to add conviction but it took away the universal appeal of the topic to an extent.
The book’s major problem however I feel is its contradiction on the basic thought. The author seems uncertain about the nature of sub conscious mind. At one point, the author tried to present sub conscious mind as an all know, all powerful side of mind but on other occasions it is represented as a slave to conscious mind waiting for instructions and follow it without thinking. True. Sub conscious mind is both of these. Then the picture drawn of sub conscious lack clarity and remain incomplete. This creates an identity crisis for the image of sub conscious mind in the reader’s mind.
Another minus for the book is that the packaging is not good enough to project the power of the book. It could have been better narrated. Too many sub headings takes away the flow of the topic as well.
Having said all, ‘The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind’ is a wonderful book which will motivate you and open many doors of solutions and opportunities. It has the ability to work miracles for us and it has the potential to open our eyes to see miracles around us. Read this book and find the gems in it…
