LET MY PEOPLE GO!!!........This is a an excellent music track from the animated movie The Prince Of Egypt.I have a real addiction to animated movies and this one I watched it on star movies.Very few people watch animated movies ’coz there is a false notion that they very chidish.But I assure u that this movie is not that kind.Actually it is an extract from the Old testament in the Bible where Moses leads his people to the chosen land.In this current trend of the arrival of many animated movies this one is one of the best.
It is a story of two brothers united by friendship but divided by destiny.The story goes like this......Some years ago during the tyrannical rule of Pharoah Seti, the great pharoah commands to slay all the male Hebrew babies.But secretly a Hebrew mother saves the life of her loved one...who turns out to be the Prince of Egypt, Moses.The grown up prince soon learns about his identity and by God’s call he is the one destined to save the Hebrews and lead them to the promised land.But his real and unavoidable challenge is that he has to defy his own brother, Rameses who is the Pharoah now.The movie has really good visual, digital effects.Some of the movie highlights are:
Moses
This character bears the voice of Val kilmer.The character has been animated in a very dexterous manner.Though Moses is only is an animated character he seems to produce a great impact on the viewer.The other characters Moses sister, Miriam and his wife, Tzipporah are also stupendous in this 1998 Hollywood flick.
Rameses....the Tyrant pharoah
Ralph Fiennes is the voice behind this majestic character.This character, Rameses is similar to the Rameses in the famous poem Ozymandias....cruel and arrogant to slaves and also softhearted when it comes to brotherliness.His character is well revealed when he says ’’They are just slaves!!’’ to moses.He is infact a character who cannot accept defeat at other’s hands.He’s really brought out gorgeously.
The unique highlight of the movie..
Guess what it is?....Yes it is the parting of the Red sea.At this part of the movie I was really gaping at my TV screen wondering about the creation of this scene.It is to that extent so excellent.When Moses prays to God and plants his rod in the sea, the waters just divide on both sides like walls and then there is a dry rocky land through which the people cross the sea.The water is translucent and one can see the whales and fishes swim.the imagination is really breathtaking.
Wow!cool soundtracks
This movie devoid of the soundtracks would have been a flop.The song ’’When u believe.....’’ is a really soothing song with a mild enchanting music track.The animation and visuals in the song ’’Your playing with the big boys....’’ is really cool with Egyptian magic and Gods.Hotep and Hoey are the performers in the movie.All the soundtracks are excellent.
If u are an animation buff, a good analyser of movies and love hollywood flicks then this movie is really for u.I have watched this movie several times and it wasnt boring at all.In my opinion it is the greatest animated movie in hollywood.If u have missed it go ahead and get the dvd.I betya it is a cool flick.
