The Princess Bride is my all time favorite movie. I watched it when I was about seven or eight, and I have loved it since.
It’s about a young woman named Buttercup, or falls in love with the farm boy, Wesley. He leaves her to find a better way to provide for her, and soon she hears about him being murder. Meanwhile, Prince Humperdink needs to choose a bride, since his father is very ill, and he has to become king when he dies. And who does he chooses? Buttercup. And so the adventure begins! This movie contains a cast that is truly perfect for their roles. Included are Cary Elwes, Robin Wright-Penn, Mandy Patinkin, Andre The Giant, Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, and Wallace Shawn. They’re all truly magnificent in their roles. You can’t help but like everyone in it!
This movie is very light-hearted, with some good comedic lines thrown into the mix to give you a good chuckle. However, the movie is really a love story and how you must fight for the one you love. This makes this movie a beautiful fairy tale adventure for the whole family to enjoy.
