The Pursuit Of Happiness
The film is based on true story of Chris Gardener. Will Smith plays the character, supported by Thandie Newton as his wife and Jaden Smith as his son.
The plot is an amalgamation of human emotions and strucks your heart.
Chris along with his wife and son Christopher lives in a small apartment; Chiris has invested all his savings in a franchise that sells a bone density scanner. This is a portable machine similar to X-ray but with more clarity. Linda his wife works for a local laundry.
Their tensions start as Chris is unable to sell his machines and has to face financial crisis. He is not able to pay bills, rents; frustrated his wife leaves him and their son.
Without money and wife; along with his son he undertakes an unpaid internship program in a brokerage firm. Meanwhile he encounters number of hardships and difficulties; he faces homelessness with no money and no machines to sell.
Determined to complete his training he struggles a lot to support himself and his son.
In the end he becomes the only trainee to get hired by the company Dean Witter.
Later Chris starts his own brokerage firm.
I have watched this movie atleast 4-5 times and every time I watch it I get a punch of positive thoughts.
The dedication & optimistic attitude shown by Chris is comendable; the way his son copes up and undertands his father’s struggle and feelings is really touching.
Will Smith and Jaden have given their earnest performances, deeply penetrated in the characters and that appeals the most. The gestures and expressions shown by both of them couldn’t be communicated through words.
Will Smith received an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nomitation for Best Actor.
Surely a must watch movie for everyone!
