I think to some degree Taylor Jenkins Reid might have even had Marilyn Monroe in her mind when she wrote Evelyn’s character. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a quintesssential beach read. Evelyn and celia’s love was so tragic’ more tragic than any of the movies they produced over the years. this was one of the best book moments I ever had the pleasure to read. I think that to get to know Evelyn and to find out the truth behind her father’s death was necessary to find her happiness. there has never been a more honest and enthralling book in the history of the world, ever.
