This is a wonderful family film.If you were only allowed to watch one more movie before you die I would recommend The Shack. This allegory about a mans encounter with God is so profound I dont have the words to adequately describe, let alone explain, this intensely unorthodox but beautiful story of redemption and reconciliation. This is a movie for everyone, regardless of spiritual background, journey, or lack thereof. It may also be especially therapeutic for those of us who are experiencing grief over loss, of a loved one, a dream, a job, a relationship. It may also help us understand the heart of God and His redemptive relationship to a broken world, a world He allowed to break, and a world He wants to redeem, one individual at a time. If you are a Christian fundamentalist you might find The Shacks depiction of God unsettling, but as a spiritual allegory of His nature and His interpersonal relationship to or with Himself and those He loves, it is spot-on. And finally, it answers the question as to why evil exists and to why bad things happen to good people and how that is all redeemed in the end.
The truth and the trust of this picture will stay with you.Trust me, this is one you want to see. Take your family. Take your friends. Or go alone. Doesnt matter. Just see it.
