The movie is amongst the top-ranked movies of imdb and has many reasons to be there. The movie was released in 1994. Plot of the movie consists of the protagonist Andy Dufresne played by Tim Robbins who murders his wife and is sentenced to prison for many years. He is sent to a jail where most furious criminals are imprisoned and leads his life among them. His life is made easier by his prison-friend cum guide Ellis Boyd played by Morgan Freeman who provides him with his valuable advices and various things inside the jail periodically. How Andy becomes an important person in the jail ranks and amongst the jail officers is the best thing to view in this movie. Moreover, the climax would make you gasp for a moment.
This movie has one of the best background score, cinematography and direction. It keeps the audience engaged to the life of Andy and the audience empathize with him. Many inspirational dialogues about life and not giving up make up a positive atmosphere. It is a must watch movie for everyone as it provides a lesson that night can be darker as hell, but the sun would rise if we keep patience and practise perseverance.
