I remember watching ’’The Shining’’ as a child, it always kept me awake at night!! But its also always been one of my favorite horror movies and I watch it often!
I hadn’t seen this movie in a few years when someone who knows me well gave me the video and that night I sat down to watch one of my long time favorite movies. I didn’t sleep too well that night either!
’’The Shining’’ is the story of a man and his wife and child. The man is a recovering alcoholic, hired to be the caretaker of the Overlook hotel in Colorado. He, along with his family, would be spending the entire winter alone at this huge hotel, a hotel with a history.
The little boy, whos about 6 loves to ride his big wheel up and down the halls, its scary though when you run into the ghosts of two twin girls who were murdered in the hotel long ago.
The father, as I said before, a recovering alcoholic is constantly lured to the bar by an unseen evil. Eventually he succumbs to the evil of this hotel.
This movie is chock full of unexplainable occurances. The blood that comes rushing out of the elevator, the ghost in one of the rooms, the little girls, the ’’REDRUM’’ found written on a door in the hotel.
This certainly isn’t a place I’d want to spend my winter, but its a great horror movie to watch.. as well as entertaining!
I’d recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys getting scared. Its a great movie to watch with the lights out on a dark night!
