Originally written in ancient runes, The Tales of Beedle the Bard has been translated by Hermione Granger and comes with additional notes from Dumbledore. This unreal world of J. K. Rowlings writing seems so true that maybe one day these wizarding legends will become bedtime stories for many children. As wonderful as their Muggle counterparts (Cinderella, Snow White, etc.), the stories have something to teach and are famous among wizards. They are amusing and the notes from Dumbledore are additional entertainment. It is one of the three books of the Hogwarts Library series, which also includes Quidditch through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and is the only one with an introduction from its real author, J. K. Rowling. Even if one has not read the Harry Potter series, one should read this book. The book was published for the general public on 4 December 2008, with the proceeds going to the Childrens High Level Group (renamed Lumos in 2010).
