Another book to "kill" time.

I’ve read this book when I was traveling. I prefer reading books while I travel because of 3 reasons:

1. I like to read.

2. I’ve got nothing else to do.

3. More time being alone.

Anyway, coming to the book, this is Chetan Bhagat’s first book that I read(even though this is his third book). Again, there were 3 reasons behind this:

1. I am a cricket fan.

2. The Story seemed interesting.

3. That was the only book I could afford at that time.(Not that I didn’t have any money, just that the other books were costly).

Sorry for going off-track but I couldn’t help it. It’s the title I guess;).

So coming back to the book. The book started on a good note. It had the right ingredients to keep a reader engrossed. But as the story progressed, I felt it was getting more obvious and predictable. I almost knew what to expect. That kind of reduced the eagerness to complete the book. I did complete the book(and it took me just about 3 hours for that). I felt it more like an Indian movie script. It had the similar backdrop setting of a normal bollywood movie with a hero, his friends, his lady, his life and finally THE END. The end is a little off-beat though. But still predictable.

The story is based on 3 friends, their friendship, their business and their life. I wouldn’t spoil the fun by telling you the actual story.

Finally coming to a decent review, which I’m definitely not good at, I would suggest a single read at least. Frankly, this book is good for a casual read. You could read it when you want to kill time. I would recommend this book to anyone who match the following 3 criteria:

1. Likes to read a book.

2. Are interested in cricket.

3. Don’t have anything else to do.

And now, the closing section.

It was a decent book. I would rate it between 5 & 6 on a scale of 10. Considering that this is just a 3rd book for the writer. He could given up some chapters on the romance though. That was the "filmy" stuff that he could do without. Not that I hate romance or anything like that, but it’s just too much in a novel. Unless it’s a romantic novel though.

Good to spend your time if you don’t have anything else to do!
