First of all why should we read this book??? For chetan bhagat , a best selling author of "Five point someone" and " One night at a call centre". The popularity of his last two book will make you to read the third one also..Anyways like his last two book this book is also based on real events and tell a another dark , witty tell about modern India, where the writer brings out the ethos and isolation of an entire generation to the fore..
The book moves with pace of an autobographical account, with very simple characters who can be easily identified in a society., But at some places the story goes typically like bollywood movies.Like in the end, the whole riots narration seems more dramatic. But overall the book leaves a mind blowing impression on readers and Chetan has again proved his writing skills beyond imagination. “3 Mistakes of my Life” is very much inspired by the previous two books…
Here the story goes somewhat similar to a bollywood movie…the way the story has been narrated is excellent..the story never looses pace at all till the end…but what book lacks is the something new which the reader expected of Chetan Bhagat.With his writing . it seems Chetan has touched a nerve with young Indian readers like me.. Thats why even if narration is same and pattern is same in all books he has written but we can appreciate them..
Book is little bit melodramatic….but the way in which the book is written is very good. the description of ahmedabad, earthquake in 2001 n finally the riots is very good n realistic. but the main theme is not new n is quite like a regular bollywood masala!!!! good to read but not worth buying n treasuring like the five point someone. Had expected much from chetan bhagat but expectations are not fulfilled this time ….Can read it once for a good time pass and without comparing it with last two books of the autor..
