I grew up in Durgapur And was brought up on The Statesman. Now I work in Panipat where the commonly available English newspaper is TOI (Delhi edition). The difference between the two makes me weep. ,

The name Titillation of India would have suited the TOI to a T. Everyday on page 2 you will get more than your fill of skin, whether desi or phoren. If you don’t appreciate pictures, news items about item girls & wardrobe malfunctions will be enough to make you turn celibate.
Self advertisement in the form of news items is resorted to every few months.
After this torture of over five years I have switched over to The Tribune (Chandigarh) & am finally able to breathe again.
