I have been a Times of India reader for the past three to four years, but not any more. I have switched over to a local news paper here in Bangalore called Vijay Times for the last 16 Months. Sad news again is that last month Times of India acquired this publication. I hope my current news paper don’t go the Times of India way.
Times of India is definitely not for people who want news. The news coverage is pretty bad. Most of the times their news involves useless items which really offers no value like some villages married their goats to please rain gods, donkeys married to ward off evil, Lord Shiva the maha dude etc.. Many of their kind of news will surely hurt a lot of Hindu sentiments.
Then the worst part, the page 3 celebrities. Some unknown people in skimpy costumes drinking away to glory and these guys go report it with pictures with captions titles Nikita and Rachel, Looking pretty in Red, Awesome twosome... who are these guys? Did they pay Times of India to have their pictures there?
Then there comes the shameless advertisements of other Sister concerns like Indiatimes website, Times music etc...Guys where is the news?
The only good thing about Times of India is their recruitment supplement - Times Ascent. Some how they have fooled the corporates to have their recruitment ads only through this. May be they published their photos in one of the page 3 drinking binges.
