Genius TV Producer who gets a Gem of an Idea (Ed Harris) He wants to give one real character to the TV world, He assumes the world is fed up of seeing people faking Laughs, Tears, Love Making, Rage, Anger, Sympathy, Everything.
He gives the world The Truman Show . This show has a real boy with everything surrounding him are actors His birth is shown on the TV, his real school days, his 1st. Love, his 1st.Job, his 1st. disappointment, his 1st.fight etc., The producer as per reactions of TRUMAN and his wants, which are Physical, Psychological, Emotional, Social, keeps scripting the show.
If Something Truman wants and craves, they keep sending around him Mentors, Friends, Lovers, Mother, Teachers etc., Now you ask me How this is possible, it is a huge big Studio, The Landscape, Storms Lightinings, Rain everything is maintained by the Studio even the Floods are generated to keep Truman venturing very far with his Boat in the Sea.
This is a very successful show, there is a big fan Following watching him, feeling for him, rooting for him and doing Everything we do for our TV Heros. BUT , BUT , BUT wait a minute, The Story is right.
But the Film Starts like : TRUMAN BURBANK (Jim Carey) he is a normal man Living in a normal Town, he is a Clerk at Insurance Co. He comes Out of his house and seeing his neighbour, He says GOOD MORNING In case I dont see you later, GOOD AFTERNOON and GOOD NIGHT. But he is not Happy with his life, he wants to get away from the happy things around Him and see the world. In his quest to see the world he accidently Falls backstage and starts suspecting everything ( Along with the Audience) (We are moving with Jim Carey in the Film) when his Wife brings him a Soap and says to him Why dont you try This Soap, Its creamy lather will keep your Hair glowing and Skin Soft all day long. When he asks for a Toothpaste she or anyone Around him dont fail to mention the good qualities of that particular Product.
When on his way to office, he stops at a Traffic Light, he Starts realizing that he is seeing almost same cars passing him and Almost same things crossing him. Suspicion is a very destructive Emotion, it can eat away your happiness, like Fire eats Wood.
It can destroy your comfort zone, your cocoon, This same thing leads Truman to outwit the whole system, the whole Studio staff, the whole Production Staff, the whole Network of Cameras. He outwits them All successfully by making cameras realize that he is sleeping and he Himself finally reaches the end of his STUDIO WORLD. Where the Real World begins.
End of happy thing around him. (SAD) He also comes to know that his real father is the Owner, Creator, Producer, Maker of the ’’The Truman Show’’ the genius after all Proves to be a VALLIN , who has manipulated everything for his Glory and who never met his son TRUMAN in real life only Monitored him and his script thru the show all the stories Truman Hears as a child about his father are a manufactured SCRIPT. In the end Truman knows he is on the camera outside of his Studio World and still manages to say his greetings : GOOD MORNING Folks, in case if I dont see you later GOOD AFTERNOON and GOOD NIGHT. well what I say is after seeing so many people Put an ACT when they talk to me, when they meet me, when they Greet me, I feel we are all may be trapped in a studio. Except my Wife and Children. LONG LIVE THE FAMILY, MAY THEY INCREASE LIKE THE FISH IN THE OCEAN.
P.S. All Reality TV shows were inspired maybe from this film. This Film was made in 1998. I did not mention Jim Carey acting, he is A legend already after the film THE MASK.
