The Village - A pleasant experience

I have been to The Village on 100-ft Road, Indiranagar, and I should say the experience was very pleasant. I have been there for lunch a couple of times once with a small group and the next in a large group. First, the décor of the place makes you go Wah! Wah!. It is done aesthetically and looks like a typical Indian village.

Next the food – they have a buffet, which has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items on the menu. A good number of starters and mix of north Indian and south Indian dishes and a desert are served. The best attraction is the live tawa, where you can help yourself with some tasty starters.

The food is tasty and satisfies your taste buds to some extent. If you are too perky about food and taste, then probably you might complain, but…….then again………everybody has their own definition for taste.

Being a vegetarian, I cannot comment on the non-vegetarian dishes though I did not hear any of the non-vegetarians in my group complain about the food.

Coming the price – this place charges you moderately and I think it is priced to give good value for money. They charge about Rs.125+taxes(might have increased slightly now) and I think this is not heavy on pocket in line with the menu. You can have beverages ordered, though I feel, the beverages are priced heavily(Rs.35 for a glass of buttermilk explains it all).

I am not sure whether this place has an ala-carte option. Overall, it’s a good place to visit for a pleasant lunch. But………the place is usually crowded during the peak hours….so advanced booking is the best option…….otherwise you might have to wait for a long time just staring at the food.
