The Village Restaurant has opened at Platinum Mall, Ghatkopar quite a while ago and we had been there for lunch on a weekend. The parking is available at the basement. Though limited, still it was convenient since there is absolutely no parking near the station where restaurant is located.
Payment was collected at the entrance by a person who was sitting like a dewanji at a desk. Card payments are accepted. Once inside, the atmosphere is like a village, with folk music, vendors etc. But, the best part was that the food was very varied, there was north indian, south indian, rajasthani, gujarati and whatever you want. Lot of chaats, salads etc. The waiters were very attentive and saw that they overfed you like nobodys business. There was a fortune teller, mehndi designs, golawalla, peppermintwalla etc etc. The seating was very varied-from a cot with ghadi, to chairs and tables. All the waiters had turbans and slippers. The children were having a gala time running about the ample space available. There were also people who tried their hand at singing and dancing to the tunes of the dhols.
You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours inside.
