Star Cast- Priyanka Chopra, Adarsh Gourav, Rajkummar Rao
Director & Producer- Ramin Bahrani
Language- English, Hindi
Plot- The story is based on a poor lost cast boy whose father was working for a man who is worshipped at his village out of scare, so he plans to work as a driver for the man and live a life of a rich man, but his life turns up and down before achieving his dream because he had to take some serious decisions to step out of the sad life and to become his own ruler.
Underwhelming Aspects
Language & Accents- Rajkummar Rao was uncomfortable in the fictional world he was set in, may be for the first time I felt that his dialogue delivery was poor.
Poverty and Rich culture in India- After the beginning shot of the movie, I kind of felt that the slum scenes could have been ignored in the editing because some moments were totally unnecessary, the creators were just trying to show case the inner poor person of the main character in the movie.
Good Aspects
Cinematography- Visually delightful. The high rise buildings of Delhi are placed where the poor reside. The domestic helpers and drivers live in the basement infested with cockroaches and lack of sanitation while the owners reside in pent houses
The Writing- People often think that making a movie which is based on a novel is so easy, but the thing is that it is important to make the movie creative in its own way while giving justice to the book and hands down to the director of the movie who just gave his best to look like an original movie.
The supporting cast- I found almost everyone in the film extremely convincing in their roles.
Adarsh Gourav- Yes, if the movie stays with you for a long time, then it will be for the main character of the movie played brilliantly by Adarsh Gourav. Whenever he comes to the screen, it stays with you including while he is talking to himself or cold heartedly killing Rajkummar.
Conclusion- It is an one time watched movie to witness some of the amazing technical directorial and editing work done by the team and all the performances of the movie were outstanding.
