Highly conceptual and practical parenting book

The author is a neuroscientist so, he makes you understand what you are gping to practice. There are total 12 practical startegies for raising a child with development of both sides of brain i.e. intellectual & emotional, mathematical & musical, Discipline & creativity. For each strategy, author first gives you the basic knowledge relating to that stratedy, like how right and left brain are different and how they are connected, what is explicit & implicit memory and how it plays role in development of fear etc. in a child. Then, he explaina the strategy by giving day to day life sceanario in a parent’s life and how we generally approach to that situation. Then, he shows the alternative way to deal with the situation and how it affects overall development of a child.

At the end of each chapter, there is a cartoon to make your child understand the concept.

I like some strategies like story-telling, name it to tame it ( emotions) , Engage, dont enrage move it or lose it. etc.

If you read the book, then only you will gradually underatand the concepts and can apply it in various situations of parenting difficulty. I have conciously used some of the strategies during my interaction with my 2 year daughter.

You may need to revise it. All parents want their child to be intellectually & emotionally intelligent and this book will surely do that.

Thank you.
