This movie is a launching pad for Vishal to emphasize his positionas a hero in the tamil movie industry. Rightly named Thimir, this movieis about an arrogant guy who is bent on his principles and devastatesanyone who crosses sword with him.
Themovie starts with a hunting spree show. Henchmen search all overtamilnadu (I dunno why they didnt go beyond TN border, must be budgetconstraints) for Ganesh (Vishal). Ganesh joins 4th year in chennaimedical college. He hails from Madurai. Vadivelu is the hostel warden.Though Vishal stays away from problems, he is constantly picked up forfight by the local college gundas. He uproots them easily and alsosaves Reema. Reema not knowing who Ganesh is, wants to see him. Justbefore the interval, they meet and the Henchmen who were after Ganeshspots them. He fights them and thrashes them to dust.Surprised Vadivelasks him who he is. Then comes the traditional tamil film flash backpost interval.
Reema’s relatives are troubled by a local dada’s sister Easwari(Shreya from SS music). She insults Reema and Vishal pounces into thescene again thrashes Easwari’s gundaas. Impressed by his machismo, Shreya vows to marry him within a week. This fails to happen as Vishaldemolishes her men again. Infuriated Shreya runs with a sword to killVishal, but trips into a electrical post and meets her fate. The brothers of Shreya vows to kill him and anyone who tries to marry him…And I guess by now you would have guessed the climax.
Music is peppy. Yuvan’s magic again. Vadivel’s comedy sucks big time . Highly sterotyped and he think that he can make people laugh when hegets beaten. Not always Vaigai puyal sir. Reema is gorgeous to thecore. Super voluptuos and I was jollufying in every frame she apeared.But lacks acting skill as always which I dont mind. New face Shreya hasdone exceptionaly well in her dialogue delivery, item number andexpressions. Vishal, ..tall dark and machomannerism stand tall admist the weakstoryline. A definte hatrick for him after 2 hits Chellame andSandaikoli.
Themovie is an 2.5 hours entertainer. Totally watchable just for Reema andVishal. But this movie is a disgrace to Madurai. No one speaks tamil asbadly and filthily delivered in the movie. And meter vattii(Highinterest) people are non existant now. Madurai is a peaceful place tolive. In my 25 years I have not seen even a fraction of violence asshown in the movie. Yet, when Vishal shouted…”Dei naan madurai kaaranda….” made me have goosebumps and I clapped and whistled, sitting inexecutive class.
I enjoyed the movie throughtly.
