Throne of glass is the first book in the Throne of glass series by Sarah J. Maas . It is a young adult fantasy novel featuring Celaena Sardothien as the protagonist. The story revolves around Celaena, a very famous and notorious assassin who was a prisoner in Endovier. She lands a bargain with Prince Dorian Havilliard for her freedom, if she agreed to participate in the competition to be held for the selection of the King’s Champion and become the new royal assassin she would be free after 4 years of service. However Celaena finds a lot of challenges while participating in this competition as she is the only female participant against a lot of men. Amidst all the tasks and training for the competition she finds an excellent companion in Nehemia, who has her fair share of secrets while Dorian and Chaol, Captain of the Royal Guard and her trainer keep things interesting. Celaena is a strong, courageous and intelligent girl and is an inspiring protagonist who manages to tackle everything that is thrown her away at a very young age. All in all, the throne of glass is an enthralling story, a page turner and can’t keep the book down till it is over.
