It was my birthday when I visited this place. A friend of mine booked us buffet coupons. Rs. 800 for a buffet at a place like this was an icing on the cake. Great crowd, cozy ambiance with a piano in the center, soft music, good food and your best friend certainly makes up for an amazing birthday.
The starter options were few but thats alright. I had hara bhara kabab, lamb shikampuri and a chicken starter( whose name I dont recollect). Lamb shikampuri was delicious. I might have filled half my stomach with a lot of shikampuris. Ordered a fresh lime soda which I need not get into details since its taste is more or less the same everywhere.
Tried tofu for the first time but didnt like it. It is no cottage cheese. Grilled fish tasted good. Health freaks should definitely give it a shot. Salads were good. Caesar salad is my personal favorite. Soups were okay, if it was the soup options or the cooking. Chicken broth soup is tasteless everywhere. Again, something a health junkie would prefer which is definitely not my type.
Coming to the main course, two biryanis, four or five gravies, assorted bread, rice and dal were on the menu that day. I am very finicky about biryanis and how they should taste. On a scale of one to five, Tiaras chicken biryani is a three. Not so impressive for me. The gravies were good. Dal rice, I didnt eat as I had to save some place for the best part of buffet - desserts. I was glad I did! Im more of a dessert person and the restaurant didnt disappoint me. Chocolate pastry, chocolate mousse, sacher, fruit tart, angoori rasmalai, gulab jamun, strawberry pastry and a few sugar free desserts, jaw-dropping and mouthwatering! Angoori rasmalai was the best Ive ever had, worth drooling over. I have been to various buffets but not many have chocolate desserts. However, this place did! And there it won my heart. Chocolate mousse was yum! Indulgence in every bit.
I would recommend this place to all the foodies who want to try out different places. Dear gastronomers, make sure you add this to your list. Family, friends or a date, take whoever you wish. Ambiance and crowd works for all.
P.S> I forgot to talk about the hospitality. The staff is quite courteous. Their service is pretty good and quick. The starters didnt take much time to arrive nor did the Indian breads, everything else was a self service.
