Darjeeling is one of the most famous hill stations situated in West Bengal. Tiger Hill is the highest point in Darjeeling and a visit to Darjeeling without witnessing the Sun rise over the peak of Mount Kanchenjunga from there is incomplete.
Tiger hill is situated around 11 kilometres from Darjeeling city. The thing is to be able to make it to the sunrise you have to start your journey by 3 to 330 in the morning to be able to make it to the sunrise by around 430. The main reason being tons of tourists rush there and there is always a queue on the way.
While viewing you have the option of sitting in the comfort of a room with majestic windows to keep yourself warm or be bold and enjoy the scenery outside in the wind.
They charge a small fee for using the room but you know what it’s worth it. After all its not everyday that you get to see such a breathtaking sight.
There are taxis operating to tiger hill everyday from around 3 in the morning but be a little bit prepared for the cold winds you’ll face there. Apart from that the sight of the sun slowly peeking out over Mt.Kanchenjunga is something priceless and a beautiful sight to savour.
Also don’t miss out on the lovely Toy train and the iconic Rock Garden there.
