I recently placed a call for a new connection. Within 24 hrs the Tikona executive turned up at my door - this executive did his own research(like checking for signal, location, etc) and concluded that there is excellent signal in my area and blah blah. I then paid the installation charges of INR 1300 up front to this executive.
A few days later, another executive supposed to do the installation turns up - he does his own research and surprisingly tells me that there is NO signal available in my area. Talk about service! Ironically this second guy advised me not to get the cnxn since Tikona uses an out dated device due to which a it receives poor signal which directly affects the internet speed. Now the worst part of this episode is when I called Tikona to get the refund - they advised me to wait for another 30-45 days. "Its company policy" thats what they said on my face when I asked for my own money.
The last thing that I want after all this is wait for 30-45 days for my own money! . Its absolutely unfair to the customer - instead of speeding up the refund and returning the money to the customer asap along with an apology - they are now holding my money for 45 days! I feel cheated and helpless at the same time. Moreover this is 2012 and companies, atleast an internet company does not take 45 days for a refund.
Tip: go with Airtel or any of the other big players in this field. Better to pay a little extra and get a reliable service. Trust me Tikonas after sales service is horrible - it will take ages before you can actaully speak to one of the Tikonas. My email that I sent to their customer support team is yet to be answered even after 10 working days!
