My experience with Tikona has been very painful till date even after asking them to disconnect. With in 10 days of connection, I moved to a different service provider because of frequent disconnection and pathetically low speed of Tikona. Almost 2 months back I asked them for permanent disconnection and refund of my money approx 2000/-INR which they took in advance (rental one month + installation charge). Response to my e-mail was a standard one: "sorry for inconvenience, etc" and that someone will contact ASAP. I clearly told them I am asking for permanent disconnection and I do not want them to even try to resolve the issues etc. After strong e-mails, one fine day I got a reply saying they will unsubscribe me and will settle account with in 45 days. After a month, I only received a copy of bill!! Some 1400/INR.
After sending another stinker of a mail, another response mail came which said my request has been noted, passed on to the "concerned" team. I very clearly told them to just come over and take their modem back and no one turned up till today. Today another mail came from billing - total bill of 2800/-INR!! For what???? In between their recovery ppl and billing ppl called to ask for payment. I told them I have asked for disconnection and I do not use their services and that they should drop by and take back their modem. This is harassment! Even after telling so many time through E-mails ( I have all of those mails), no one has bothered to collect the modem. However, they have been prompt in sending updated bills each month. Tikona is a horrible company. They dont have any ethics or principles.
I really would want to demand huge compensation for this kind of harassment. Their recovery agents keep calling every now and then to ask for money but no one want to set up an appointment to drop by pick up the modem and formally close the connection. After each shady by their recovery/billing agents, they send a mail saying - we tried contacting you but you were not available! I told them clearly, please DO NOT call, just mail and fix up an appointment OR come during any weekend to pick up the modem. Their CEO should be put behind bars for harassing customers like this and the company should be closed.
