Though in Marathi Flim Industry, there was no trend of making sequels, however of late the idea of making sequels in this industry seems to be visible trend. The movies like Zapatlela 2 and now Timepass 2 are the classic examples to this trend. The movie Timepass 2 is directed by Ravi Jadhav, prodused by Nitin Keni, Maghnana Jadhav and Nikhil Sane under the banner of Zee Talkies. The key cast of the flim includes Priyadarshan Jadhav, Priya Bapat, Prathamesh Parab, Ketki Mategaonkar, etc.
The story revolves the same teenage love seen in between Dagdu played by Prathamesh Parab and Prajakta played by Ketki Mategaonkar, also starring Bhalchandra Kadam and Vaibhav Mangle however the original freshness of the story is being replaced by the father daughter sentiments, which seems to be unnecessary breaking the nerve of the flim.
As far as performance are concerned all the actors in the main leads of Dagdu, Prajakta and her father were incredible. They have expressed the intense emotions be in humor or the melodrama with utter dexterity especially if we talk about the man playing the character of prajakta’s father.All in all terms of performance and a story of melodrama the movie is okay, yet lags behind in terms of originality and freshness as evident in the first part.
