This happened on a recent vacation to Saputara(a hill station in Dang, Gujarat). My wife was suffering from a severe stomach upset and it was not possible to find a doctor late at night. In order to find some medicine for her, I went to a local Medical store, described her condition and asked for Enteroquinol a common drug for diarrhoea.
It so happened that in the cottage next to ours was a Pharmacist who met me on my way back. I mentioned my wifes condition and showed him the tablets. That is when I came to know that it was a banned drug and could cause adverse effects.
Later, I came across a list of banned combinations(ingredients of a drug) used in drugs and the their Brand Names and I thought this could be of help to many. The credibility of this list is questionable as it was forwarded to me via e-mail.
All I suggest is do not buy drugs across the counter without a Doctors Prescription even if you are suffering from Cold and Cough.scroll down and you will soon know why.
The list follows.look out for familiar Brand Names.
