Increase mileage to the best extent.

There are few things you should try to boost your economy.

TYRE PRESSURE :

Not many people consider this as a factor to improve mileage. Infact it is one of the key thing to note. In a nutshell, optimum tyre pressure implies that you can drive without imparting much load to the engine. Hence, your engine is gonna suck in less fuel and consequently better economy. ENGINE RETARDATION :

Engine retardation is another concept which is very important in driving. What is engine retardation? Consider this, your are driving at around 40kmph. If you cut down your throttle and do not hold clutch, you’re gonna feel a little tug that slows down your bike. That’s engine retardation. Use this as much as possible. If you’re gonna keep slamming your bikes, you’re actually resisting the motion of your bike. Hence, all the fuel is gonna get wasted in breaking instead of propelling. If you make use of engine retardation, you’re just making use of whatever energy engine processes to break and not resist the motion. See where iam getting at? So, engine retardation. Great choice. It will be sometime before you can actually start using this efficiently. This comes only by experience. CRUISING SPEED:

Try attaining your cruising speed. That’s like 50 to 60 kmph at 5000rpm. This is the speed where your vehicle moves at maximum efficiency. You’re not overloading your bike, you’re not under loading it. Its the perfect ride. At this speed since your engine load is less, obviously your economy is gonna boost up. POTHOLES, BUMPS AND SUDDEN BREAKS :

These are something that you can’t control. They happen just like that. Try to avoide such situations as much as possible. These bad boys are gonna bring down your economy since they are impossible to eliminate. Iam gonna stick on with avoiding them as much as possible. PILLION RIDERS:

Here’s some simple math. More load on engine, less economy. More riders more load, so more riders less economy. This might make difference in some bikes. I don’t know about yours, but it has the ability to make one. Try to ride solo as much as possible. That way, you actually use fule to move your bike and you alone. Nothing more, nothing less. Here’s the last one.

OPTIMISTIC GEAR SHIFT:

The timing at which you shift gear is important. When you are driving, try shifting your gear right before your engine peaks out. Meaning, you might wanna change it before the engine vwroom sound gets saturated. If you gonna shift after that point, you might get speed, but you will loose fuel. If you are under shifting, you’re gonna use a lot more fuel that the former because the engine tries to burn more fuel to keep up the higher speed on a lower gear. This one too comes by practice.
