Dear Sanjeev Kappors and Tarla Dalals at ms:
This is my 1st review on food and grocery items. I am not a usual dalroti type person but try adventurous cooking styles and food as much as my pocket, stomach and health will permit.
I am an avid food lover and like to cook and eat regional delicacies when I go to different places.
?aaj hum chicken khayenge?, ?we will have chicken today?
If you hear such type of sentences, then be sure you are with very amateur cook or noveggie?i run away from such people because they can spend money but do not know what to eat and when to eat?.
So, some tips to be a great food lover is
Be specific in your ?foodie? terms
Food lover doesn?t mean the person who can eat tons of chicken or vegetables..but the one who will eat it with full faith, interest in it.
Get acquainted with some terminology before you spend?in many hotels, chicken mughalai and chicken masala will taste ?same???shame? on such hotels?do not go there next time even if it is 5 starred and you can afford that.
Ask waiter about the ingredients used if you want to order something new which you don?t know.if he is not able to tell you that catch chef of that hotel?.he will tell you the recipe(i have done it many times.. my wife says ?i am crazy? but end result is excellent.. You will eat really good food because of your curiosity. )
Do not hesitate to experiment on your food. it may sound difficult to some of you but try it once and you will make it as a habit.
Most important thing enjoy your food!!....even it is poor man?s recipe or starry hotel?

Last month, i went to hyderabad and ate some andhra delicacies at my friend?s home . chicken chettinad and butter paratha?walla..kya baat hai!!
Here goes recipe for my foodie friends of MS. This is recipe of chicken chettinad which I got from one dadi ma of hyderabad?Stay away from this if you don?t like spicy food.
Chicken chettinad:
500 gm chicken,
75 ml oil
150 gm onions
100 gm tomatoes
02 gm cinnamon sticks(dalchini)
02 gm cloves
02 gm cardamoms
05 gm cumin
02 gm curry leaves(kadi patta)
10 gm turmeric powder
Salt
25 gm coriander leaves
Ingredients for Marination paste:
100 gm onions
50 gm ginger
50 gm garlic
50 gm fennel seeds(saunf)
20 gm cumin seeds(shahi jeera)
25 gm peppercorns(miri)
10 gm red chillies
100 gm coconut
Grind the ingredients for the paste. Clean and cut the chicken into small pieces.(i will suggest to keep small pieces for better marination)
Marinate the chicken with the paste.(atleast for 30 mins..patience is the key dear!!)
Chop the tomatoes, coriander leaves and the onions.(now, don?t ask me what should be the size??..you should cut it as small as you can.)
Heat oil and add the cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and cumin, saute.Add Chopped Onions and Curry Leaves.é. (kya khooshboo hai!!!..mere pet mein chhohe doudane lage hai?.)
Sauté until the onions are golden. Add the tomatoes and sauté for 5 minutes.(This is very important step?if onions are not cooked properely..then taste is different)
Add the marinated chicken and turmeric powder. Sauté for 10 minutes, sprinkling water at intervals
Add enough salt, cover with a lid and cook until done. .(Check at regular intervals to avoid overcooking of chicken)
Add more chilli or pepper if required. Serve garnished with coriander leaves. (Add Amul butter if it is too hot to handle/eat...)
Now Chicken Chettinad is ready..Eat it with Bread, Roti, Chapati, Rice or whichever way you want but the Gravy should be ?THICK??.
Let me know..I will come and share this excellent dish with you?
