I had research on which model should I opt for induction cooker. I found that there was many complains for prestige induction cooktop compared to pigeon. But I myself found that one my friends Pigeon cooktop started having trouble after a week buy. I preferred Pigeon Feather touch cooktop. I searched in shops for touch pigeon cooktop but couldnt find any. Prestige PIC 3.0 was the only available one and that too with free vessels. I took risk and bought it. I am pretty satisfied with the performance of the unit even after 3 months of rigorous usage. I use it atleast for 2-3 hrs a day. I was skeptical about cooktop’s plastic body melting which I found in most reviews. I used to check the unit if it melted, but its fine. Since the cooktop is having electronic parts we have to be very carefull while using it. Whenver liquid fell on the ceramic top, I wipe it off. We have to be also with the ceramic top also. It can break if manhandled. Otherwise there is no other problem with the unit.
Here is the Update after 8 months of usage.
Till now I am pretty satisifed with the product except few issues I found in it. From the day I bought the product I am checking if any body part are melting or breaking. I found that a plastic part inside near the vent got deformed due to heat. It might be due vigouros usage of the product. I use it for 2 hours daily during weekdays and 3-4 hours on weekend. But the product should be designed to withstand the extreme heat. The touch buttons and timer are working fine. But in one instance I found that LED display was displaying something in off mode. When I touched off again, fan started to work. I face this issue only once.
Since I started using this product, I had seen a increase electricity bill of rupees 100, but it should be noted that I do complete cooking on this. I havent changed my gas cylinder for last 6 months. we use to prepare rice(kerala) daily which takes 30 mins in pressure cooker.
I am pretty ok with product, but its build quality should be better. I dont know how long my induction cooker will work. There are many who are not happy with prestige. I havent found good reviews for any brand except TCL. But TCL cant be found in all outlets. Recently Preethi and Crompton Greaves has released their range of induction cookers. But its tough to get these brand in bangalore or online.
