The Philosophy:
First of all, you want to know why you should take my advice, right? Well, it makes sense doesn’t it? Allow me to explain. You may or may not realize that you rely on your sense of olfaction quite alot. In fact, your perception of an individual’s scent plays a large role in your attraction towards them.
The Translation:
Still don’t understand? I’ll make it easy: GIRLS DON’T LIKE GUYS WHO STINK! What your cologne smells like to you is not as important as what it smells like to a member of the opposite sex, right? So get ready.
Lesson #1: Choosing the right scents.
I’ve always wondered what goes through a guys head when he picks out new colognes. It just seems as though there is no rhyme or reason to why you boys pick the ones that you do! I’ve noticed that most guys will pick colognes that SOUND MANLY. You know what I mean. Adidas brand, Nike cologne, etc.
Word of advice: They stink! My brother actually recently bought’Michael Jordan’ Cologne. It smells like DIRTY FEET! Please don’t make the same mistake.
Choose a fresh clean scent during the day, but make sure it’s not too strong. You want to smell clean and appealing without being overwhelming. For a night out, try something bolder than what you would choose for day wear. Probably a musk or something woodsy.and remember, you want to stand out, so make sure you look and SMELL original!
Lesson #2: Where to spray.
I’ve noticed that most guys will spray themselves with their cologne of choice with one firm spray directly on to the chest. While this is one good place to spray yourself, try spraying your wrists, directly on your pulse points. Also, try spraying the sides of your neck. it may just encourage a girl to come closer!;-)
DON’T overspray yourself. Its a good thing if you smell nice, but no matter how nice your cologne smells, if you overdo it, you may give people a headache.and that’s definitely not attractive.

Yes, girls do discuss their favorite fragrances for men. And yes, I will give you the Top 5! Here goes.
- Romance for Men: By Ralph Lauren
This one is HOT! Great for anytime wear, that’s what is great about it. And for you skeptics out there, its quite MANLY smelling, despite the name. and guys can be romantic too, right?
- Armani Mania: By Giorgio Armani
A great scent to wear out to a party. This one is relatively new, so you’ll definitely smell original. Its a very pleasant smell, and very attractive. Just don’t overspray!
- Cool Water for Men: By Davidoff
Yum! This is a fresh, clean scent that is perfect for daytime. And the best part: its almost IMPOSSIBLE to overdo it! It’s never overwhelming, so spray on as much as you like and watch the girls’ reaction!
- Acqua Di Gio for Men: By Giorgio Armani
I once heard a girl say, ’Acqua Di Gio actually makes a guy SMELL good-looking!’ Although some find that hard to explain, the reason is that this is the only cologne on the market that actually contains REAL PHEROMONES, the naturally-produced chemicals that are responsible for human attraction. If that won’t convince you, I don’t know what will!
- L’Eau D’Issey for Men: By Issey Miyake
I have a fetish for this one. When a guy walks past me and I smell this fragrance on him, I actually have the urge to follow him around, scary as that may sound. Yes, I do resist my strange urges, but I think it goes to prove that this is one of the most attractive fragrances on the market. Still don’t believe me?
Put it to the’Elevator Test’: Spray it on before you walk into an elevator. If theres a female on the elevator, 9 times out of 10, she’ll compliment you on the fragrance. My male friends will all vouch for this one. I’ve made all of them purchase it!
