I have been travelling to Mumbai and Belgaum by VRL Travel buses for the past several years. Earlier days, it came as a welcome change. While other operators were still finding their feet, VRL came up with Multi Axle buses. That is how I got latched on to VRL.
However, of late, for the past year or so, their service has shown steady deterioration. Following is what I have noticed:
*- Their drivers and cleaners are arrogant
They are not at all customer centric
Restaurants where buses take a halt for lunch and dinner are pathetic - food quality is bad and places are horribly unhygeinic
Drivers are least bothered about punctuality*
Despite telling them and bringing this to their notice, nothing seems to be working. Either the higher ups are also insensitive or they are not getting the feedback from the drivers/ operators. Hence the need for publishing this post.
VRL arrogance comes from their network and other logistics business. However, they probably are overlooking the fact that other operators are picking up.
I, for one, am switching to KSRTC.
