Art Often Dies !

Let me see, in how many ways can a common Indian entertain himself - by flipping through magazines, by listening to some unacceptably loud songs by himesh reshmiyya, by playing games on cell phones, by watching the flavour of the season - the talent hunt shows, or the greatest indian, American or whatever comedy show for that matter. but people still prefer watching movies to relax themselves and get rid of their earth sized tensions. but isnt cinema more of an art than just a mere source of entertainment to be taken so lightly ?

Cinema is a reflection of society and its primary purpose is to show the reality. but masses crave for entertainment as if there is no alternative. besides the aforementioned options, the developing technology has contributed to the world wide web being more informative, equally exciting and foremostly, very much affordable by a middle class indian. then why opt for movies and then criticise it for not being "ENTERTAINING" ?

Agreed, movies must be engaging. but in this context, the term "ENGAGING" is mistaken for "ENTERTAINMENT". i couldn’t believe my ears when some cinegoers said that OMKARA was boring. OMKARA kept me glued to my seat and didnt even let me look even once a the girl next seat.
