This is a debateable topic. Even this is the issue which is most common in GDs for MBA entrance. But why we are making it issue.
Discrimination on the basis of sex is unreasonable. Performance should be the measuring scale. If we say’women in the Business’, it was not accepted few decades ago. Now the soft skills people are the requirement of the Business. Even in Top B-school like Harvard, IIMs teach the soft skills and EQ(Emotional Quotient) to the students.
Every Business have requirement to handle the clients and customers. Without satisfying clients and customers, no business can run. To satisfy the clients and Customers, need good, kind, generous, soft spoken with a strong communication skills. In fact these skills are the gift of God to the women.
ICICI bank, BIOCON, Kinetic are the companies which are successfully handled by Women. Lalita gupte, chanda kocchar, Ramnath are the leading ladies of ICICI bank who are making ICICI, a big player under the leadership of K.V.Kamath. Sullaja Firodia dominated the two wheeler automobile industry through the kinetic engineering. Even Biocon lady Kiran Majumdar, shows her talent and make Biocon, an MNC from the Hyderabad.
Generally I had seen many places that the people easily communicate and satisfied by the female speaker.
It is the question in India only. Can women perform in Business?
Why Not. Give them equal chance, equal opportunities, working environment. She will definitely perform.
One of my girlfriend, who is electrical engineer, wanted to continue job. But her parents wanted marriage. She had Broken the marriage and started job after ring cermoney. In a new city, where no one knew her. She performed. She struggled madly.
Now companies appreciating women skills and providing them flexible working hrs like Infosys, I-flex and some others. These companies also providing maternity benefits and sending jobs to her home in pregnancy period.
If you see the top 25 Best Business women in Business today, you can believe on their potential. And seriously, Only women can care us so why she can’t care our Business.
Somewhere I read’ behind a successful man, a surprised woman’ . hahahahaahahaa.
