I lived in Toronto for four years of my life, between 1998 and 2002, in North York, and Downtown on Queen St which by the way a FANTASTIC place to shop that must not be missed on your visit!
Toronto offers a lot in diversity food, people, language, and culture.
One minute you can be walking along in TOronto like you are in any normal city, and then boom, then next you are on the tiny streets of Chinatown, where you may find its hard to believe you are still within Toronto.
Chinatown is a fantastic place to dine with affordable prices, generous portions, quaint atmosphere, and friendly people.
There is also a big Greek community on the Danforth, fabulous restaurants and shops!
What I liked about living in Toronto was that you could experience any culture within the city itself.
Theres also Toronto Zoo to visit along with, Canadas Paramount Wonderland, The CN Tower (The Worlds tallest free standing structure)
which has a floor of glass your are permitted to walk on if you have the courage!
Also recommended is Playdium located near Richmond and John is great entertainment for the kids as it offers a four storey arcade with virtual reality machines and even more games that adults themselves will find intriguing.
People are friendly and eager to help with directions or information so dont be afraid to ask if you are in need of assistance.
Toronto is a Big City, with big lights, big fashion, with things to offer such as: the Toronto Film Festival, and Jazz Festival, and many friendly people.
The summer can be swelteringly hot ranging from about 26 to 34 with high humidity so if you come during the summer months, youll need your water skis and not your snow skis!
Restaurants I like are:
North 44, Centros, Le Paradiso, Jump, Zoom, and Avalon, these are the top restaurants in the City, the places to be seen if you will, but there are some 8, 000 restaurants and Clubs Toronto has to offer, so have fun exploring!
In Toronto there are really no minorities because the mixture is so diverse.
I especially recommend Toronto to travellers from India, and Latin America who even if you are not accustomed with the english language will you find it easy to get around.
The city even has underground shopping and passage ways, its possible to go from one end of the city to the other almost with out coming above ground at all, which is very good during the winter!
Youll also see some of our 400 Moose statues around the downtown area.
I Love Toronto, its affordable and its beautiful.
I know you will love it too!
