It is a storage device for regular use so u can’t judge by one day. You were feel its performance when the device is fullfill with your data and the performance is same as the first day. And I feel that my toshiba give me the same performance( for pure performance use usb3.0 usb hub) when I used first time. The performance is cool becuse of it has usb3.0 I read many of reviews before buying this and also compare from sony( #overprices) , seagate( not meet my expectation) .My 2 friends also have same hard drives after my suggestion. And they have no problem at all.So go for it for a pure performance.
For safety I use amazon basic hard drive case it make my storage buddy more safer and stylish.
