I just bought my second Camry. The first cost me £2500 five years ago. Five years of trouble-free motoring made me search for another recently. However finding a used Camry is not easy as the owners are loath to get rid of them. During my search a dealer told me that if he had five on the forecourt he could sell them all in a week. I believed him. This second Camry has done 58, 000 miles so it is hardly run-in. My old one has done 101, 000, but I have a problem - the older car has cruise control, air con. and a CD player. So, which one do I sell? A further complication is that I am going to university in September and any 2.2 litre engine is a little thirsty for a student to satisfy.
All this talk of possessions sounds very middle-class and trivial but it is fun.
These are really reliable cars and well-built. (The newer of the two vehicles was built in the USA, to my surprise)I would heartily recommend the Camry to anyone especially if you have to go for a used vehicle. Look for one with a full service history as regular oil changes and filter changes are more than a good idea.
