I have recently bought a second-hand QUALIS for 4, 90, 000 in October 2010. It is it’s top end version RS (ROYAL SALOON) very good vehicle for long tour and even for city uses. When we bought it we had some work on it, such as power window’s, dashboard light behind A/C, cabin lights it’s headlamp’s etc.
We have done work on it but still some of the work are pending such as dashboard lights and cabin lights. We also had to replaced it’s tyres which costed 4, 400 on each tyres (Michelin tyres).
While running on road’s it sounds some less than the other QUALIS vehicles which I liked the most in second-hand QUALIS as many people were saying it was well maintained engine the only problem we had while running on road was it steering joint’s which we have to replace now as some tourist drivers told us that new will cost 3500/- and it’s owner was a rough user.
There was some scratches on power window switch panels, right arm rest is broken as I have heard that it is costly. I have also replaced it’s timing belt and did it’s oiling and also fitted new mp3 player in it replacing it allpine audio tape.
Now there was just one speaker problem and arm-rest problem was remaining suddenly while coming from village we got it’s steering joint problem. We also had a battery problem which we have not replaced the battery yet. Now then again we got power window problem’s 3 window’s are not working.
Front right power window’s it is making sound like how a car goes on the mud at high speed’s front left it is going down like the same of right but it is coming the half and rear left window is going down proper but is not coming up.
We have such many problem’s coming and coming but not going. It’s motor cost RUPEES 8000-6000/-each.It has not even crossed 1, 00, 000 km still. We only use our car while going to village as someone said to us it’s a maintenance free vehicle but if we will use our Qualis daily we will know anything about it.
Now it is in my brother’s quarter where my son have classes near it so he start’s it everyday. It has costed up to total 5, 70, 000/-. If we add a new stereo in it which cost’s about 8-10/ and if power window motor cost’s up to 6000 rupees then. But I didn’t get any major problems in it .I like my Qualis very much and it’s is big, spacious, light (muv), which own Innova like features and also car like to drive.
