Alright no question about it, Traffic is a great film. It does not approach it the tradiional way of Drug traffickers versus cops. Instead it shows the various angles to the very important social problem: Drug addiction.
Ofcourse it revolves around the drug cartel in Tijuana, Mexico and the DEA in the US. Involved are the family of a Judge who is to now head the DEA. His daughter is an addict (in high school). Across the border are cops in the local police and the Military which steps in to crush down the cartel.
Thats the premise, thats the start. I wont let out more so as to ruin it fo yo. but the movie is about good cops bad cops, coruption, and the way a faimily gets affected by addiction.
so far I have been positive? Then why did the subject say but... ? Well as is typuical in America/with Americans/American movies, they need a god damned HERO!! And hence at the very end there exist some! Who RISE to the occasion. I firmly feel thios part could have been dropped out, made the movie 10 minutes shorter (its long as it is!) and the end would have been much much more impressive without bringing in the hollywood trash!
Final verdict: Still worth seeing it!
