We recently relocated to New Delhi from Bangalore.After extensive searching on internet, we decided to go with Transdaksh Packers and movers. I called their customer care and response was good. Immediately got an sms from Mr Sahil Mahajan that his executive Mr Amit came to my place today.
As stated, Mr Amit Came to my place and provided me a good quote and told me that it will take 7 days to transfer the goods to Delhi. When I asked if they have any branch office, the answer was yes and it is in Gurgaon.
So I asked them to come to my place on 6th April and they came on time. Packing was excellent and the guy Santosh who came for packing was good. So I paid 70% of the total amount to Santosh and they left. Till this point, everything was good.
I called the very next day to the customer care to check whether they have already sent the consignment truck with good, the immediate answer was "yes Sir". I trusted and reached Delhi on 10th April expecting that my goods will reach by 13-14th April but I was wrong.
I called customer care number 9035024365 on 11th April to check the status of the consignment( exactly where it reached). Nobody picked after calling many times and then I realized all their numbers are cell phone numbers.So I called in their office number, the response was pathetic.
Sir, we will check and call and nobody called me back. Again I called many times and finally, they provided Mr Prasad’s number who is transport incharge for Transdaksh I called Mr Prasad and he informed that the truck is now in Rajasthan-MP border and the delay was due to breakdown and I have to wait few more days.So I waited.
Again I called the Transdaksh office on 15th April, got the same kind of response.
Then I called Mr Amit, sales executive and told him I am aware this false reasons given by packers and movers and I wanted to know the truth.
I should admit he is the only guy who helped me a lot and he is very well behaved. He told me the truth that truck started only 2 days back. I was shocked.
I was too much in problem without having any goods.I had to buy everything from outside because I didn’t have anything with me.I had to wait till next week and finally, the consignment truck reached Gurgaon but when I called the local office, they didn’t bother to deliver even after request from Transdaksh.
Finally I came to know, they are not from Transdaksh office. They are just the warehouse guys who deliver goods on behalf of most of the packers and movers as per their convenience. Now the picture was crystal clear how these packers and movers business run.
It was a horrible experience. I was in serious doubt if I will get my goods or not.Finally, I received my goods on 21st April after 15 days of wait and agony. Though most of the goods are in good conditions, few of them including my Steel Almirah was a little damaged was so frustrated that I didn’t raise any claim though I had taken insurance from them. I just didn’t want to talk to them anymore.
Lessons learnt:
1.Don’t trust any packers and movers. If you have money, book your own truck and transfer. Otherwise, you will go through mental agony till you get you goods. Once you handover your goods, you will be at their mercy. You cant do anything with them as your goods worth lakhs will be with them.
- This business runs on unethical means and lie.Dont trust if someone says we have our own truck.Everyone uses shared consignment trucks barring a few big packers and movers
3.Most of the packers and movers don’t have local offices in all cities. They hire some local warehouse barring a few big ones.
I would have appreciated if they told me truth from the beginning that they started from Bangalore after 1 week and it will be delayed because of that.
But I also wanted thank Mr Amit for his help during the 2 weeks. He is the only person who helped me a lot .
