In his carrier, which has exceeded 25 years, Alice Cooper has never been succeded to be one of the best rockers however, this album is one of the best in rock history.
’’Trash’’, released in 1989, made all the eyes turn to Cooper who was experiencing setbacks in his carrier.The album, being one of his best selled, had a nice hard rock sound which resembled Bon Jovi partially.It perhaps didnt present a unique rock sound but made the listener enjoy him or herself with lovely rock tunes.The most attractive point is the sex theme nearly used in every track in fact sometimes fedding up the listener.
According to the most of the fans, the leading track is ’’Poison’’ but I think the ’’locomotive’’ song is ’’Bed Of Nails’’ which is placed in the second part of the album.The remaining songs are generally of good quality however it should be mentioned that their tunes resemble eachother too much.The 2 slow songs added give a good taste of listening too.Here is a general review of the songs:
POISON:One of the leading tracks of the album and the first released song...Intense sex smell from the beginning to the end...Guitars and drums are well used throughout the song and back vocals support Cooper in a good way.A nice, rhytmic rock song with well instrumental background...
SPARK IN THE DARK:Another rhytmic hard rock tune...Again full of sex theme.Instruments have secondary role in this one and generally vocals dominate the song.Will not bore you however, will not offer an original taste.
HOUSE OF FIRE:One of the extra ordinary songs in the album.Generally vocal dominated with sufficient instrumental accompaniment.You will notice the Bon Jovi resemblence in this song much more than others.Besides the tune is superior to the ordinary songs of the album.
WHY TRUST YOU:A good rhytm and nice speed created with electronic guitars and drums makes this song one of the leading ones of the album.Back vocals are succesfully used here too filling the background of the track.Especially the rhytm is fabulous and burns the veins up!!
ONLY MY HEART TALKING:The last song of the first part...A classical hard rock slow with a charming melody.Orchestration with violins have made the song more beautiful.7 over 10...
BED OF NAILS:And here is the king!!A rhytm of high speed makes you feel like you are in a crazy car race!!Guitars have been played very well but perhaps drums show their best performances in this tracks with especially their attack in the chorus part.Back vocals are strongly heard in the chorus , making an attack just like the drums.You may pick the Bon Jovi sound here too with the similarity to ’’You Give Love A Bad Name’’ or ’’Livin’ On A Prayer’’ with the same high quality like those songs.10 over 10!!
THIS MANIAC’S IN LOVE WITH YOU:A weak track that doesnt offer so much tastes.Probably has took part just to occupy place in the album.Not so much to say about this one;ignore it.
TRASH:The track with the same name with the album.Well, a track with the same name with the album should have been better in quality however, this one is only in the average.You can easily ignore this one too.
HELL IS LIVIN’ WITHOUT YOU:The other slow song of the album...This one presents an original sound which draws attention and pleasures the listener.Keyboards have been used sometimes, especially heard in the beginning part.The chorus parts are dominated with vocals;they are so intensely used that the instruments only have a secondary role that they are weakly heard.7 or 8 over 10.
I’M YOUR GUN:Another ordinary song of the album.Seems like they have said ’’hey you stay in the end of the album, just fill the place and do nothing more’’ to this one.Nothing special to mention about it...
