Trekking / Rafting and Camping

Hi friends

I n’joy a lot of travelling _ when get a 3 day weekend .

Last time I day been to this place called natures beauty. Neat trip. Luckily no rains. So we had a good time.

We reached there by afternoon - so missed morning rafting. Had lunch, met up with a Local Tarzan, a gora who runs the rafting outfit out there. Fixed up for afternoon rafting. Rafting was awesome, but leaves you feeling that

you want more. The 9 kms stretch gets over quite quickly. Initially, plenty of people were feeling nervous. But the first thing done after getting onto the river was for everyone to go overboard and be pulled back in. Amazing how that takes the fear away, once you realise there is no way you can drown with the life jacket on!

We got back by late evening and Tarzan accompanied us inside the reserve forest. To our shock, we found that his idea of a great campsite was a sandy stretch in the jungle, that required us to wade through a knee deep river and balance across a clayey stretch of slippery mud bank to get there! But having no choice, we ventured. Slipping and sliding, we somehow made it. Pitched tents cooked dinner, before crashing out. Some in tents and some under

the starlit sky, next to a super bonfire.

Woke up at 6 AM and headed into the forest for morning duties. Still a bit dark, so most people were a bit nervous :-) Must have hindered performance! Quick breakfast and we were off for trekking into the forest. Good hard trek through the day. On the way, we baited a hook with a frog and cast it in the river for fish. The terrain is quite green, with lot of teak & rosewood trees. We sighted Bison, Langur, Flying squirrel and a couple of snakes. Some parts were pretty steep and had us gasping. But very manageable. Got back to the camp by evening and some of the gang went swimming in the stream while the rest of us started fishing. Then we realised that the morning bait had hooked a massive Murrell fish. 3 Kgs and very. Very

tasty. Good dinner that night. Murrell slices fried over the campfire and some singing etc.

We packed our packs and left Nature’s beauty _ to the concrete jungle.

Goooooood trip!
