Dealing with Tata Motors has been very disappointing.
First they dont keep appointments, one salesman puts the phone down on me. Now they want to sell me a demo car which has run over 6000kms as a new car.
He is trying to convince me that it is a new showroom car and I will be the first owner. So what?
I have known cars all my life.
And I told him a lot of other things that I have worked Tisco and all and I trust the TATA brand and wish to promote our home grown brand etc.
But my impression was that we dont matter, that we are all middle class nouveau riche people with money to throw around and too stupid to know the difference between a second hand car and a new one.
this has been one of the most disappointing episodes of my life.
Tata Motors is bringing in latest technology with a mindset of employees in the feudal past. A little googling will show that these new engines are high maintenance and tata Motors people are simply not mentally geared to sertvice the peopl properly.
This is my last email to them:
You can keep your car and your "principles".
A car that has run 6000 kms is a used car. You have convinced yourself that you are making a good offer. You are I am sorry to say genuinely disillusioned.
All I can say is that if our country is in the hands of like you, it is not going far.
With your attitude of unfriendliness, Rules and regulations of your behavior with no "service" in mind, you are going to hit yourself under the belt.
With the kind of technology you are bringing in, the service attitude required will be very high. You people are psychologically not geared for it.
Copy of last mail:
Seems the personnel at Tata Motors are not motivated enough to pursue a client.
The sales person at the okhla branch even put down the phone on me.
The others from Bhikaji cama place and Mayapuri did not even bother to call back to cancel an appointment if they were not in a position to come.
Not very inspiring.
If this is the kind of effort you put in for sales then, god forbid to what will happen when we have a problem with the car.
