Best Science Fiction, Redefine Imagination!

I’ve always been a huge fan of technology and action movies, as they have a unique charm that keeps you engaged until the very end. Joachim Ronning is one of my favorite directors. I love watching his films because they always offer something incredibly interesting and entertaining. So, when I heard about the release of Tron: Ares, I was beyond excited to watch it on the first day, first show, and I did just that. I watched Tron: Ares on its release day, and as expected, the movie was fantastic, packed with action, entertainment, and the kind of captivating story I’m always on the lookout for. It’s the third and most compelling film in the Tron series and serves as a sequel to Tron: Legacy.

The movie revolves around the theme of a highly advanced program named Ares, which was brought from the digital world into the real world by its creator, Julian Dillinger. Both the Dillinger System and the rival company ENCOM are racing to find the “Performance Code, ” a digital key that will allow creations to exist in reality. The story takes an interesting turn when Dillinger wants to use this technology for military and soldier purposes, and Ares shows a surprise level of self-awareness and interest in humanity, which complicates his mission and leads to the clash between both worlds.

Greta Lee’s performance as Eve Kim was outstanding; she brought vitality and depth to her role as a tech CEO. Evan Peters as Julian Dillinger and Jodie Turner-Smith as Athena were also remarkable, helping make the movie a big hit and keeping me captivated until the end. While their performances truly touched my heart, some actors, like Jared Leto as Ares and Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, were quite disappointing. Jared’s acting failed to deliver the emotional balance required for his character’s arc and came across as wooden, while Jeff’s performance felt lethargic. I couldn’t feel an emotional connection with his character, which could have been much stronger.

No review is complete without discussing the technical aspects of the movie, as they play a crucial role in its success and in shaping the audience’s experience. The visual effects and cinematography were outstanding, as expected, and enhanced the charm of the overall movie. The use of high-resolution digital capture and recording in Redcode RAW at 8K resolution is phenomenal, making it really visually appealing. The blend of practical and digital effects included extensive visual effects to make each scene appealing. Also, the background music and setup were so approaching and perfectly blended with the scenes, which I enjoyed a lot.

Lastly, the movie explores the theme of consciousness, identity, and the blurring lines between the digital and physical world as Ares experiences the human world for the first time, which is quite appealing. The performance of the characters is pretty fair except for Jared. I mentioned him as I expected a lot from his character, which I didn’t see happen in the movie. Apart from his acting, everything from the concept to cinematography, music, and dialogue was perfect. Overall, if you love watching technology-based action dramas, the movie is worth watching as it has everything that a good movie must have to entertain you.
